IIC Technologies, India, has been awarded a prestigious contract from NCSI, Sultanate of Oman for implementation of Oman-National wide Unified Addressing System. The contract has been delivered by the Director General of NSDI, Eng. Hassan Alawi Al-Ghazali to Chairman IIC Technologies, Rajesh Alla, at the Geospatial World Forum 2018.

Addressing system is the key element to execute the 2020 Smart Census and is necessary to keep the Sultanate in step with international trends and best practices. The Sultanate of Oman has started a key initiative to establish a Unified Addressing System.

This addressing information plays a vital role in most transactions, provided by thousands of different organizations, include an address – from registering to vote, collection of waste, delivery of social care, connection of utility services, quotation for insurance, delivery of packages, allocation of school places and most crucially responding to emergency situations where time really can be a matter of life or death. A geographical overview of addresses is required for a large area, such as land administration and utility planning and maintenance.
