December 2011

IIC is pleased to announce the award of a contract from Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) for the production of 50 paper chart masters using Citrix technology and CARIS HPD.  The production work will continue until mid-2012 with an option to renew for additional charts.  LINZ is the latest in a series of hydrographic offices that have contracted IIC for a variety of chart production services within the CARIS HPD environment.

November 2011

IIC will attend and support the 6th International Conference on High Resolution Surveys in Shallow Water to be held February 20-24 in Wellington, New Zealand. IIC will be an exhibitor and will present a paper on the remote processing of multibeam surveys. The conference will feature the traditional "Common Dataset" theme to showcase new survey technology. October 2011

IIC Technologies is pleased to announce the award of an 18 month contract for stereo aerial digital photography for over 11,000km of coastline in South Asia. A part of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management project by India’s Ministry of Environment & Forests and the World Bank, the aerial photography will capture a 7km wide belt of India’s coastline, covering 65,000 sq km. The resulting imagery will be used to map, delineate and demarcate vulnerable areas to mitigate the impact of severe storms, tsunamis and other natural disasters.

September 2011

September will see the publication of the first Admiralty Leisure Folio updated by IIC on behalf of the UK Hydrographic Office. IIC was recently selected to revise this prestigious product line, designed primarily for recreational boaters. The folio revisions are part of a comprehensive program that includes the selection and formatting of weekly Notices to Mariners, which are vital to navigation safety. August 2011

IIC Technologies is pleased to announce the award of a four year framework agreement with Ordnance Survey (OS) for the supply and maintenance of geospatial data. IIC, through its UK subsidiary, Photarc Surveys Ltd., will provide map revision services to OS using photogrammetry and field survey verification techniques. Ordnance Survey is the national mapping agency of Great Britain, responsible for publishing an extensive portfolio of paper and digital map products. For more information, please click here.

Hydro 2011 Down Under: IIC Technologies will be both an exhibitor and will present two papers at the upcoming Hydro 2011 Conference, November 7-10, in Fremantle, Western Australia. The presentations will cover disparate yet highly topical subjects: Remote Processing of Ship Based Hydrographic Multibeam Data and Rethinking the Nautical Chart: Tackling Present & Future Trends. IIC is pleased to announce the award of a multi-year contract from Canada’s Dept. of National Defence (DND) for the supply of geospatial products and services. The contract includes the production of Additional Military Layers (AMLs) and Digital Nautical Charts (DNCs) as well as the maintenance of various navigation and tactical products.

April 2011

S-102 Bathymetry: In a pioneering project initiated by the Canadian Hydrographic Service, IIC Technologies recently produced some of the first S-102 bathymetric test datasets. S-102 will become the international standard for distributing bathymetric products for navigation, situational awareness and other uses.

US Hydro Conference 2011: IIC is proud to sponsor the upcoming US Hydro conference, to be held in Tampa, FL, from April 26-28. IIC will also present a paper on the impact of peak oil prices and climate change on commercial navigation, available here. IIC is proud to announce the recent award of a hydrographic survey contract by WAPCOS Ltd, the renowned Indian water resources consultant. This multidisciplinary project, near Chennai, includes tide and velocity measurements as well as the collection and analysis of sediment and riverbed material. Both the hydrographic and topographic survey data collection and processing require stringent horizontal and vertical controls. This contract represents yet another successful survey award for IIC.

Cadastral Surveying Contract Awards: IIC is pleased to announce that it is both the first and largest provider of cadastral surveying services under the National Land Reforms and Modernization Program (NLRMP) in India. IIC is currently undertaking four major land survey projects covering approx. 27,000 square kilometers across two states. The projects involve over 300 professional surveyors and technicians who collect ground information and process it into finished products. These contracts further highlight IIC’s broad range of geospatial services, including acquisition, processing, and final product delivery.
